The Best Caramel Apple Pie Bombs Recipe

Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, we head over to my mother-in-law’s house to make these fantastic cakes for dinner called fataya, which are similar to empanadas. It is a family tradition to prepare this dish for Christmas Eve, while we spend the day laughing, cooking and enjoying each other’s company. It is quite an experience.

My husband Chad and I decided that we would like to contribute to the events of the day and prepare a delicious fall dessert. Since then we have been working on recipes and these candy apple pie bombs Our socks have been completely blown away. The flaky dough is loaded with apples, caramel, and cinnamon, then topped with butter and brown sugar. Once they come out of the oven, they are sprinkled with even more caramel.

These are crazy. He cracks open a hot one and the caramel and apples flow like a river out of the cake. They’re so good that Chad (who doesn’t like apple pie) devoured three of these as soon as he finished the photo shoot.
